One of the important applications of piezoelectric
materials is the ultrasonic signal-power conversions, i.e. used
for generating and receiving ultrasonic waves. The development
of ultrasonic science and technology is strongly dependent on
the discovery of piezoelectric effects and the advance in piezoelectric
material science. So far, most of ultrasonic devices have been
made from piezoelectric materials.
There
are a variety of types of piezoelectric components. Different
applications have different requirements upon the devices. Devices
for ultrasonic processing, ultrasonic welding, ultrasonic cleaning,
ultrasonic handling and ultrasonic long distance ranging require
that the modules generate large high power and have high electroacoustic
efficiency. Devices used for ultrasonic nondestructive detection,
ultrasonic diagnosis and ultrasonic imaging require such performances
as high sensitivity, broad frequency band and narrow pulse. So,
piezoelectric materials with different performances should be
chosen for different ultrasonic chips, and also different devices
structures would be adopted. |
